Tucked away in an ulu (that is, "rural", in Singapore vernacular) part of the West, the Jurong Hill top offers an almost unparalleled night-time view of the entire Jurong estate (which, trust me, looks much more exciting than it sounds) akin to Hong Kong's Victoria Peak.


A stone's throw away from the Jurong Bird Park (actually, the Bird Park sits on the Western side of the hill), the hill top is most easily accessible by car or cab (for those who plan to take a bus to the Bird Park and walk up from there, be ready for a hefty hike).


At the hilltop (which, by the way, Singabored advises you to travel to in groups because the path up can get creepy and quiet at night) is a look-out tower, which houses a few restaurants (we've heard that they're pretty good, if pricey) as well as what is arguably the best, most breathtaking view in the West. And a beautiful view it is:


The area, as well as the top of the look-out tower provides an unblocked view of the surrounding, from Jurong Island to the Jurong residential estates and even to Bukit Batok and nearby districts.


Of course, such a place would be ideal for group gatherings, picnics and, as can be seen below, for couples to canoodle and get all fuzzy and romantic at.


And for those who want a little something else to value-add to the experience, they can head to the Garden of Fame located next to the look-out tower, which contains trees planted by foreign dignitaries like Princess Alexandra of the UK.
